Re-Working

Over the past few weeks I have been gradually working on some new pieces for my Lissi shops and also re-working a couple of pieces from the past that didn't sell. I thought this would be a good idea as I didn't want to be relisting the same products over and over again, and although I always receive lovely comments about my products as they are I also want to give my audience something new to view!

Firstly, the extra long Ecalyptus Printed Silk Scarf.

This scarf looked great when it was wrapped around a couple of times, giving it a chunky snug appeal so I decided to stitch the ends together to create a hugh circle scarf.

It looks lovely drapped around twice and gives that snug feeling again wrapped for a third time.

Secondly, I decided to re-work the Silver/Grey Scarf in the same way.

This one was not as long as the Ecalyptus printed scarf so looks great in one drap and cosy in two.

Would love to know what everyone thinks :)

From print to card...

Last week I showed off some of my latest steamed eucalyptus prints and suggested that I was planning on making some Mothers Day cards from them....well here is the first, layered up and stitched to a modest A6 white card, an orignal piece of textile art! Each print is different to the next so each card is a unique keepsake....

Available to buy now in my Folksy Shop - http://www.lissi.folksy.com/

Jam Pot Joy!

Today arrived a new jam pan for my dyeing delights!
I am always watching and bidding on them on ebay but always seem to loose out at the last minute if i'm not sat chasing them to the end of the aution, but this time was my time :)
Below you can see that I was not the only one excited by what I was trying to unwrap - along came Nosey Rosie climbing straight in for a good sniff about before I could get it out of the paper!

New Prints

Yesterday i arranged and tied up some eucalyptus leaves in a silk bundle to steam and these are the dried results...
I was thinking of making some special Mother's Day cards from them but I'm not sure if they are defined enough???....although, definition is not something I can control!!
What does everyone think?
I will make one up and see how it turns out...

A Spot of Potting!

I love this time of year when Spring is trying to creep in, the nights are slowly getting lighter and soon there'll be bright flowers to push out the winter blues!

I've had a little pot myself today, some lovely purple primroses/polyanthus. I had yellow last year so fancied a more unusual colour this year. I only wish I had a garden to plant lots more!...hopefully soon x
